John Cornyn Is Such A....

Dick Head!!!



In response to the Vote Vets ad asking him to support the new GI Bill, Cornyn's campaign had this to say in Roll Call:

"The anti-war crowd is determined to use our men and women in uniform for their political advantage, even if our national security is jeopardized in the process."



This bill and the ad had nothing to do with stopping the war but had everything to do with honoring our Veterans for their service to America. I guess this is something Cornyn would not understand since he avoided serving in Vietnam(questionably) while all of the men in the ad as well as Rick Noriega who is running against Cornyn, have served their country by being on the front line.

To take this one step farther, a quick search on how Cornyn's veteran score card, means the Junior Senator from Texas should stop talking out of both sides of his mouth and start to actually stand up for Veterans.

* 2006 Senator Cornyn supported the interests of the Disabled American Veterans 60 percent in 2006.
* 2006 In 2006 Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America gave Senator Cornyn a grade of D-.
* 2006 Senator Cornyn sponsored or co-sponsored 6 percent of the legislation favored by the The Retired Enlisted Association in 2006.
* 2005 Senator Cornyn supported the interests of the Disabled American Veterans 33 percent in 2005.
* 2004 Senator Cornyn supported the interests of the Disabled American Veterans 0 percent in 2004.
* 2004 Senator Cornyn supported the interests of the The Retired Enlisted Association 0 percent in 2004.

It is beyond belief that a warmonger Senator would so mistreat our veterans at home. Is this really the type of Senator that Texas needs? NO!!!

Vote Vets

In response, Brandon Friedman, an Iraq and Afghanistan Veteran from Dallas, and Vice Chair of VoteVets.org said, "Senator Cornyn's response to veterans is ignorant, insulting, and beneath his office. The GI Bill has nothing to do with the decision to go to war, or the course in Iraq, nor would it jeopardize security. The GI Bill was a sacred promise enacted by President Roosevelt, and all we are asking for is that America not default on that promise."

Friedman added, "Further, to accuse veterans of using ourselves as a political football is pernicious and absurd. Apparently, veterans do not have the right to ask Senator Cornyn to do the right thing, or else we'll be smeared. At least we now know what Senator Cornyn thinks of those of us who served this nation in combat."
