Texas Rep. Mike Krusee- Charged with Drunk Driving

Rep. Mike Krusee from TX House District 52 is arrested for drunken driving. Krusee is retiring at the end of his current term as he knew he could not win reelection.
A Texas Department of Public Safety trooper arrested and charged state Rep. Mike Krusee, R-Williamson County, with drunken driving late Wednesday, authorities said today.

Krusee was booked into the Williamson County Jail at 11:15 p.m. Wednesday and was released at 8:55 a.m. today, officials said. His bail was set at $1,000.
Krusee carried and passed legislation in 2003 that created something called the “driver responsibility program” to help fund the Texas Mobility Fund. That program included a number of surcharges for driving offenses, including $1,000 for a first conviction of driving while intoxicated.

Isn't it strange that the darling of TXDOT and the Trans Texas Corridor gets busted for drunk driving? Seems rather appropriate to me.

It's ironic that Krusee's 2003 “driver responsibility program” bill became law and now he has to pay those surcharges for driving drunk, about $3,000 (the snakesman got it wrong).
